Description

A little arithmetic exercise to see how difficult it is to fit Chris Tanev in if Calgary maintains the hard line they took with retention on Zadorov (i.e., none). {Persuading them to retain as little as $750,000 would allow the Maple Leafs to avoid putting one of Benoit/Lagesson/Lavoie on waivers.}

A skeletal exchange like this is doable, but strenuous.

I don't know how interested the Flames would be in Calle Jarnkrok, but he's about the only reasonable inclusion in the trade (from Calgary's PoV) that would alleviate the cap problem.

I wonder how realistic this scenario is, to Toronto and Calgary fans.

Good value on Tanev, I'd rather take less for a more serviceable player coming back.

A 2nd and Bahl from Jersey for example.

I agree, a mid-2nd + Actually Useful Player are just as good to me as a Late-1st + 3rd, I just don't know if we need Bahl... Other than his Size, is he really any better than Gilbert or Solovyov!???

I'd much rather have Jarnkrok than the 3rd too... Flames could use a Right Shot Veteran like Jarnkrok imo and he would be a very useful 4C down the line as well and I don't mind his Cap Hit at all
