A) why would Stamkos sign for this price and term?
B) why would he sign with a rebuilding team?
And I’m a Habs fan.

He can't sign back @ Tampa... no cap space with Hagel new contract 6.5M.
He won the cups already... he is 35YO... how much more years would you give him @ 6M?
Toronto would sign him @ 4M after losing Nylander as free agent.... that's the other possibility

He’s 33 atm, will be 34 next summer and is still scoring at a ppg. If he takes 6 or less it’ll be to play for a contender or to stay with Tampa where he’s built his life.

looking at tampas cap for next year plus knowing the ceiling will go up soon i think they can afford him around 6 mil, and also 3 mil in tampa is the same take home as 6 in mtl.....Also as mentioned he would be 35 at the end of that, and even if he declines could still be worth 6 mil at that time for another year or two after. I would say theres a greater chance of him signing in Toronto for the league minimum then coming to MTL for any amount.

Not one single player you signed are signing these extreme low ball offers lol. Stammer isn't going to a perennial rebuilding team, and if so its going to cost way more than 3rd liner money
