Can they fit him under the cap? With how Kuzmenko has been playing this season, is he not a distressed asset as well?

Rangers need the cap more than the player

Kuzmenko has been extremely professional and positive to this point. He's not a "distressed" asset; I think other teams checking if there's an opportunity to get him, but the Canucks would ask for a lot. Boeser has shown what a bounceback season can look like and Kuzmenko was great last year, there's a good chance he finds a higher level of play.

Kuzy left Russia at 26 to come to Vancouver with Mikheyev and signed an extension. His agent is the Canucks sleeper AGM Dan Milstein (Kuzy, Mikheyev, Zadorov and 4 others in the organization).

Too many red-flags with Kuzmenko. He shot over 27% last season, and now his numbers had regressed to the mean which has highlighted his faults and driven him down to the fourth line. He also gets extremely favorable offensive deployment which inflated his numbers.
