You're not giving Calgary anything they would actually want for Lindholm

Maybe but frost might make a nice fill in 2C until a prospect comes along (keeping Kadri happy). He had 46 pts last year on a team that couldn;t score, and even in limited minutes is on pace for 30+ this year. Grans is a nice RD prospect with size, at worst he would be CGYs 2nd best RD prospect. Attard is turning 24 but showed NHL capability, and the 2nd is probably in the 30-40th overall range.

Until more injuries set in theres a glut on the defense market, and while CGY might get higher picks (albeit from contenders in the 20-30 range), they probably dont get anyone who is young and in the range to help in the next 1-2 yrs or fits the CGY bill. Maybe for example CGY gets Niemala out of TOR to address the RD problem. but they have plenty of middling (albeit high reward) forwards, but their defensive prospects haven;t panned out as yet.

Just dont think you get a good young player and a high pick and a prospect. Maybe geekie and a BOS 1st, but i think frost has a higher end, the diff between BOS 1st and CBJ 2nd isnl;t much, and doubt you get a better RD man prospect from BOS than Helge.

Trading Lindholm has to be a win for Calgary, the new GM there can't walk away from that trade without a good prospect and a 1st. It will be more about how the trade looks than who is actually involved. Colorado for example could give their 1st and Olousson (I have no idea how to spell his name) that would be equal to two first round picks and they would say that's a win.

Lindholm turns down 9 x 8 in Calgary to sign for 7.5 x 6 in Philly?

They would probably view that as a big win but this is a better return then what a very late 1st and Ollausson would be.
