Not a CBJ Fan so this maybe off base

Fair trade but it's Sakic and he's acting like Duchene is Crosby or McDavid or something and wants a lot for a highly overrated player on Sakic's part. But still thats a good trade.

This most likely is the package CBJ is willing to offer.
IMO, this package makes Avs so much better than they are. However Sakic wants the moon, along with Carlson.

From what I've read CBJ didn't want to trade Murray or Anderson. The worm may have turned with Anderson apparently requesting a trade. I'd say that's pretty close to fair but of course Sakic is trying to get more, he wouldn't be doing his job otherwise. You can all criticise him, I do too, but he hasn't got to make a trade at all. The Avs would argue Anderson has little value to the Avs in the trade, unless the Avs are certain they can sign him. Add Carlsson in, drop the first pick to a second and add Barberio in from the Avs side for balance and I reckon that's close. CBJ fans probably still wouldn't.

Duchene & Barberio for Murray, Carlsson, 2nd pick 2018 & rights to Anderson.

As for whether Duchene is overrated, that's what fans of teams who a) don't watch him regularly, and/or b) want to get him for scraps & scrubs say. (Make a note of just one post anywhere online that was pre-trade for the team he eventually goes to and see how highly he's rated by those fans pre & post trade for the difference. I guarantee he's worth a bag of potato chips now and worth 5 first round picks after, that's how fickle most fans are). Is he Crosby or McDavid? Of course not! Is he better than most people on here are giving credit for? Absolutely!
