Peek is still 100% a pure cap dump, so taking him would require some goodies from columbus, especially for a cap team like the leafs to play on their 3rd pairing. Dude has been close to replacement level most of his career and half a decent season last year doesnt change that

Flyers are in a weird half-rebuild position, they aren't going to trade anything they don't have an abundance of, scoring forwards is one of those so I highly doubt Tippett is for sale unless the flyers fall off a cliff

Main pieces for Sale would be Seeler, Staal, Risto, Walker, and Laughton (probably). I'm fairly certain they won't sell anyone else. Also they Flyers would have too many goalies to take on Samsonov, at this point he'd be behind Hart, Ersson, Sandstrom and Petersen

Agree, but its also about Tippett's demands as an RFA, and the return (a 1st, 2 3rds, a high prospect at a position of PHI need: Center, and a solid midlevel LW prospect). As far as Samsonov, he would never play, it would a pure dump to get back a 3rd and more because they have the cap space. Seems like a fairly good return based on the current depth of flyer forwards, but maybe not enough

I think Laughton also is a good shout to the leafs, but proabably just for a lesser package of 1st, Voit and Samsonov cap dump, but again maybe a bit light.

I think Philly says no, but it's an interesting idea

Perfect pickup for Leafs: current level of play, age, type of player. And to PHI I see it as two 1sts and 2 3rds, but again it depends on what PHI thinks of that and how they view current youngsters Foerster/Brink/Frost/Cates and forward prospects Mitchkov/Barkey/Kaplan/etc.... I dont think PHI does it, but they have alot of shooters and lack centers/passers
