Description
WOW! Would a 2024 mid first and 2025 lottery pick land Zegras? For the record, this is just for fun. I'm not a fan of Zegras as a person nor his lack of anything remotely defense, but would be crazy to see the goals that Bedard and he would score together.

Should ANA do that? Yes. That should do it. But i'd bet they want more, when this is already too much. Definitely way more than CHI should be spending on any player. Make the picks, no need for Zegras right now, and hopefully not in the future either.

But yeah, those two would probably be nuts to watch together.

Possibly, from an ANA pov. A ‘25 pick in general would be nowhere near the top of the target list in a Z trade (they’re trying to turn the corner on the rebuild, not extend it), but with where CHI might end up next year that could be worth it. That said, the upside of an unprotected pick would be necessary, especially to avoid any chance that it becomes a ‘26 pick that isn’t helping them until 2028.

As a note though, I’d bet you’ve watched little to none of Z’s play this year (which is understandable, we suck) based on the comment that he plays zero defense. His defensive development under Cronin is honestly undeniable if you watch even just a one game sample. Hell, even his stats show it pretty clearly

His defense has improved a bit i guess, but that was coming from nothing for defense...at least he was showing willingness to skate hard back to the defensive zone when they turn the puck over. Yes, I do watch games as I live in california.

Doubt it honestly...some team will jump up in the lottery...at least the odds are SJ won't land #1. In other words, they have a 25.5% chance to land the #1 and a 74.5% they don't. Watch someone like Calgary at #9 jump to #1....i hate that about the lottery. Should be the bottom 3 to 5 teams that only get a shot at the #1.
