The Kings aren't trading their leading goal scorer on an incredibly team-friendly contract.

I love Schenn but I have zero interest in his contract. 2.75m x 3 years was too big. I really wanted the Leafs to bring him back but definitely not at that price. 2m x 2 years was my TOP end. Preferably 1.5m x 2 years.

            Leafs pass on this.

Maybe a stretch, but I’d have concerns about a Byfield offer sheet— though not common, he’d be a great candidate considering LAK’s salary outlook for next season.

He might be the worst NHLer I’ve ever seen. Just last game he had 3 unforced turnovers in the defensive zone which resulted in breakaways/odd man chances. He just looks so scared whenever he has the puck, zero confidence. He isn’t fitting in NSH.

That's rough! He was very good for Vancouver last year and for the Leafs. But he should be slotted as a #6 or #7 guy. A guy who is just huge and very physical. 2.75m is too much for his age and for a #6. 2.75m is the high end for a #5 guy.

Gem of a human though and great for the locker room. But I was definitely happy the Leafs weren't the ones who signed him to that contract! Now I wish we signed ROR to his contract. I would have loved that!
