Description
Don't mind the lines -

you get Monahan -where the typical accepted price i'Ve seen on this platform ranges from a 1st to a second... so to that end i've made it a conditionnal 1st round pick that either brings it down to a 2nd or a very late first round pick.

Then we send Barron, a young RHD rookie for the future and Ylonen (hasn't got a chance to prove himself in MTL - he's a talent guy being played on the 4th with Pezzetta...

IMO, Habs can retain on Monahan if needed and can increase his offer. I'm targeting Pod because of his age and plateau he's reached. I want to know his price.
Trades
VAN
  1. Barron, Justin
  2. Monahan, Sean
  3. Ylönen, Jesse
  4. 2025 3rd round pick (VAN)

MTL
  1. Podkolzin, Vasily
  2. 2025 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
CONDITIONNAL FIRST ROUND PICK:

- if Monahan does not get more than 5 points in ther regular and playoffs;

The VAN's 2024 first round pick becomes VAN's 2025 2nd round pick, but MTL keeps their 3rd round picks

That seems like a horrible trade for MTL. Podkolzin doesn't have very much value other than maybe a reclamation project at this point because he's 22 and in the AHL, and he has 20 pts in 30 GP. The pick and conditions probably cover Monahan, but maybe only one third going back makes sense. Maybe the other third is for Podkolzin. Then you're giving up Barron and Ylonen for free

Meh - I value Pod a bit more for his style of play I guess - very active player. I feel he would do great under MSL and Adams.

Canucks still like Podz.We are looking for a top 6 forward the rest is just a waste of assets. This deal seems bad for the Habs.Just My opinion.

Canucks pass. Would rather spend those assets on an actual difference maker. We are trying to be the best, not just pretty good

Cole is better than Barron, especially in the playoffs.
