Absolutely nothing of interest to LA here. Liljegren falls behind both Spence and Clarke in the depth chart. Second, we don't need futures, we need hlep now. A late 1st round pick is not interesting.

Also, I'll be absolutely shocked if LA moves Roy. Spence will be the guy to go, if I had to guess.

So the way i view this trade is...

Liljgren = Kaliev + 4th.

Roy = 1st.

Do I think its fair? Yeah probably.

I like the concept, but I just don't think LA would be interested in getting a first. They are contending as well, so unless they were going to flip the first to improve their team, I doubt it happens.

Kaliyev has been a healthy scratch lately, so moving him doesn't affect the Kings immediately.

However, the rest of the immediate effect of this trade is the Kings downgrading from Roy to Liljegren. For a team desperate to advance in the playoffs (not doing so will likely cost the coach and GM their jobs), why exactly would they do this? A late 1st round pick won't help the Kings for 3-4 years at least.
