3.00 AAV is not a huge cap hit for the next 4 years when the cap will rise over 90 M$. Desharnais might not be the typical Top-4 D-man but he's playing over 15 mins a game these days and does pretty well. Need to give him an enticing contract to win the sweepstakes, would be a smart signing IMO. He'd be asked to be Chabot's defensive conscience, like Methot for Karlsson.

Kastelic was great last season, elite on face-offs, physical, good defensively, can score some goals too. I think he will be fine as the team improves overall

Unfortunately, Dorion has painted us in a corner... The team has been playing the right way the last 3 weeks, I'm sure Forsberg would be running away with the #1 job right now. Korpisalo has been very inconsistent but has been great at times. Hopefully he stabilizes as the team plays better defense

Hire a coach before the draft and UFA season , have him work with management to pick the right players to form the team. If a coach is going to coach a certain style he should have the right players to execute otherwise next year will be another cluster f&*k.
