Offer for Zegras

Why though? No way Anaheim takes that. Starts with Reinbacher imo. This doesn’t make sense for Anaheim, and trading Reinbacher doesn’t make sense for Montreal.

Theres no way the Zegras value is a fresh 5OA drafted.

That’s what it would take to get him out of Anaheim, I can assure you that. They are not gonna trade him for some meh players, and picks.

Why not? In his own draft he’s probably right around the 4-5 mark redrafted, but with no risk of him busting.

The MTL fantasy of getting Z has been exhausted on this platform by the way. It’s in pretty much every MTL ACGM from the past month. You’ll see a very consistent response from the ANA contingent:
1. We don’t want to trade him
2. If we did, the addition would not be a bunch of smaller parts. Quantity does not equal quality, and ANA’s needs are toward the top of the lineup (top 6 scoring wings and #1RD).

That leaves 3 realistic options:
- Slaf based trade
- Rein based trade
- MTL ‘24 1st + Mesar quality prospect (only done at the draft when MTL is on the clock if a Verbeek ‘my guy’ is available, my guess being Levshunov/Lindstrom)

If that isn’t worth it to MTL, all good. We’re stoked on Z in ANA

Reinbacher was a reach at 5, Zegras was a steal at 9, most redrafts put Z in the top 3 his year, and there isnt the risk of busting, he didnt even have a sophmore slump like the vast majority of rookies do.

So yeah, not only is he worth more than Reinbacher, MTL would be adding to Reinbacher to land Zegras.

Or he stays in Anaheim, that simple, you and your entire fanbase need to accept the fact that you don't land a player of his caliber for spare parts, which is what late 1sts and B prospects are. We already have those, many equivalent or equal to the ones you have, we don't need more, we need high end talent, so we're not moving out a high end talent without taking one back the other way.
