The value is off here but I'm not theoretically opposed to making the salary work by retaining 50% and taking back Samsonov. Pens can then flip Nedeljkovic for good assets and still have a reasonable backup.

Value wise I think it's missing some combination of: Another prospect (or better roster player like Knies), another pick, Connor Timmins
