He might I really don't know the answer to this and I like him decent enough but is Boqvist really gonna get that much?

Worse for us than Granlund was tbh. He's been atrocious and looks completely uninterested.

Karlsson to OTT

The pick is top 10 protected so if we finish in the bottom 10 it is our decision not SJs if we keep this year's and give them next year's instead, at least that's how I understand it. I imagine we would do that bc it's a guaranteed Top 10 pick (bird in hand philosophy and also whoever we draft would be, assuming all things go well, ready earlier than a 1st round pick in 2025) although of course it's a very real possibility we are worse next year so it's definitely a decision that needs to be contemplated on. I can't imagine if we do finish bottom 10 we don't give them the 25th 1st instead but who knows but as far as I know if we finish bottom 10 it's our decision not SJs...

Taking some bad contracts to build a younger core
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Onlyfairtrades1</b></div><div>Yet they will be playing in the playoffs..again...as Pitt watches....again. LMFAO</div></div>
The players watching have one less cup themselves than your entire original 6 franchise, with 3/4 coming when it was only between 6 teams...I think it'd be safe to say the core you're making fun of has accomplished more than your 100 year old franchise....

Yeah that'd be way too rich for us imo even if you retained some. Not a move we should be making then.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wreckless</b></div><div>I dunno about Colorado. I mean, better team, sure. But if he wins there, vs. if brings cup number 25 to Montreal?
Number 87 in the rafters? Oh my god…
He definitely has had this cross his mind.
And I fully agree. That move would instantly make Geoff Molson millions upon millions of dollars in extra ticket revenue, ad revenue, beer revenue…</div></div>
You're right. Crosby isn't Lebron he wouldn't just choose the best team. If colorado just because his best buddy Mackinnon is there lol he's very competitive of course playing playoff hockey is important to him but he wouldn't just solely be swayed by going on the best team. Continuing to speak hypothetically bc i don't think he's going anywhere but yes Montreal would be top of the list and if he brings a cup there hed be even more immortal, itd be something to see for sure...

Sid does not understand direction of Dubas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wreckless</b></div><div>Yep, nothing’s changed about what he’s decided to say publicly.
And his desire to do this, is in direct conflict with his desire to have meaningful seasons at the end of his career.
My guess is the latter wins out.
I can’t possibly state enough what the experience would be like for him if he came here.
He would literally transform the entire culture of our province.
We have the young core in place to support him.
It’s his childhood team.
It’s the perfect fit.</div></div>
Colorado would be before MTL. Sid has earned whatever he wants. Obviously if we were rebuilding it'd be more beneficial to the rebuild to get the absolute haul and the draft picks that Sid would bring (and for the receiving team youre selling out every single game at a 50% price increase) and if Sid wants to go then I know for a fact we would honor that. He's earned his say. If he wants to stay, stay. However, Sid has always said that it's important to him to only wear one jersey for his whole career. So idk. Outside of punditry and speculation I've never seen Sid say anything other than it's still important to him to retire a Penguin.

Three Team Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Ullmark’s NMC forces a trade to an Eastern Conference Team.
Pittsburgh gets off of Reilly Smith’s contract and gets a flyer on Kaliyev.
Jary goes to LA for PLD who gets shipped to Boston. I’m of the belief that Ullmark is a better goalie and there were rumors that Pittsburgh talked to Boston about Ullmark before resigning Jary.
It would be much easier if Boston just traded for PLD and Kalyan (to swap to Pittsburgh for Reilly) using Ullmark, but saying this in case that isn’t an option. LA can offer an extension to get Ullmark to waive the NMC
Boston signs Alec Martinez as a one year flyer at LD while Lohrei develops</div></div>
Personally I'm good with this for PIT

Tank for Top Ten Protection
Tough call. I think you gotta take the 1st this year and give them next years. Not just betting on yourself per se but if you've got a guaranteed top 10 pick take it. We really going to be worse than the bottom of the bottom next year and miss out on a 1-5 pick? Worst case scenario you lose a few spots, from like 9/10 to 6/7. Plus honestly would rather get a top 10 prospect in here so hopefully he gets called up sooner. If drafted this year and all goes well maybe 2-3 years after. If drafted next year and all goes well looking at 3-4 years later. Idk that's my thought. Take the bird in hand...

Ppl can say low risk high reward on Kuz but is it? Even retained he's owed almost 4 mil this year and next. I think he's cooked but well see. I don't like this for the Canes even with only losing a 3rd (just for retention pretty much) bc youre taking on your cap savings from Bunting with Kuz now for the next 2 years...
