If Buffalo was interested in 100% down! I just think the sharks are getting the better player here and would need to add to make this happen

That's a good trade. In fact, I could see a trade exactly like this on deadline day. It would be like this year's version of the Dadonov for Gurianov swap (which Dallas won, but besides the point).

I want no part of labanc. The Sabres need two way forwards, preferably with size and grit- that's what makes sense considering what they already have and what's coming. You could probably have olofsson for future considerations.

I think the Sharks would only be interested in Olofsson in this type of swap. No reason to take on the cap space when it could be used to bring in assets.

This trade works. Even though Olofsson may be better, I wouldn't add anything to dump Labanc. I'd just let Labanc's contract expire before I'd give up an anything to move him.
