I think that is a stupid trade for VAN. Garland to include maybe for extending Guentzel. Though he will still be an upgrade over most of PIT's wingers. Hoglander is a good young depth forward at worst. VAN need those type of players to contend.

If Calgary wanted that return they would go to Van directly. Calgary isn't trading a 27 yr old for a 28yr old (soon to be 29) dman that's signed to 6 more years, does not accomplish getting younger, which is the goal here.

Canucks pass. The most I see them offering for Guentzel is something like a 1st, 2nd, and Raty/Podkolzin. Potentially Mikheyev for cap reasons as well
