Description
........walk into a bar. There is a bad joke to insert here but I decided not to go there.

Frost probably isn't available but is also probably the ideal target for the Avs at the deadline. Flyers may be sellers especially if they move Seeler & Walker as that means they've decided they aren't taking a run at it in reality but even then they may well want to keep Frost.

Raanta is ideal as a back up G. Experienced to back up Georgie but unlikely to be a threat to displace him. Also a good mentor example for Annunen and may be affordable to re-sign.

Coghlan is buried in Carolina and imo is too good to be. I was surprised when he went undrafted. Not sure if Carolina would want to move him but looks ideally suited to the Avs style of play. Hasn't played NHL level this year but is more than capable of reinforcing the Avs right side.

Worry about moving RyJo in the off season if they can't find a way to at the deadline.

I know he hasn't played a ton of NHL games but could Coghlan be a secretly good and affordable RHD option for the Avs 3rd pair when they inevitably trade Manson to get some cap space? His relatives and possession numbers are actually quite good and they wouldn't really need him to put up points. If he's a decent skater and Carolina doesn't have him in their future plans, I'd be down for this trade.

i think waiting to move ryjo makes sense, we have the cap space currently and no need to overpay someone to take him right now. The biggest issue i see us having when we make a move is having too many cooks in the kitchen basically. Kovalenko is coming over and if landy comes back thats two more players who will be looking for top 9 minutes. Obviously not the worst problem to have but i wouldn't be surprised if we move someone out to bring in that 2C.
I like the carolina trade but that probily means it's favored for us haha.
I think we'd have to give a little more to get frost though, oskar doesn't hold that much value anymore and hopefully that 1st will be 32nd overall so a pretty late pick.

Very much thinking along similar lines there. Possibly even 2nd pair in the future.

Yeah it's possible we have to move someone out. It might be that we do that in the off season and where we're all thinking it could be a D then it's actually a forward who goes for cap space. Also depends on Landy making it back of course, Kovalenko working out.....lots of questions to be answered there. Possible we'd have to give up a little more for Frost but I don't think it's too far off. Probably whichever prospect the Flyers are high on really that's not named Ritchie and then maybe another pick if necessary. Kind of whatever it takes within reason imo. I also know what you mean about the Carolina trade but the valuation on here from 'canes fans for Raanta seems to be about a 5th and it's hard to see Coghlan having any more trade value than that simply because of how the 'canes have buried him in the AHL behind everybody else they have. Obviously they don't have to trade him as an RFA but they haven't done anything to make his value any higher imo.
