Description
The Goodrow buyout is not bad. In year 3 of this deal he is a scratch with a league min player in his place so thats basically the same outcome in 2026-27, and its a credit next year and ~$1m 4/5 years. Makes the Trouba Buyout almost overkill. But man that $8m number is gonna clog up this window.

Trouba isn’t being bought out. He’s being kept and then probably extended at a cap friendly rate for the 3RD slot

I mean, why not just try to trade him at 50% retained if you’re willing to take on a $4m per year buyout? And then you don’t have to take the $2m hit in year 3 and 4. I could see a number of teams trading for Trouba at that price— and you’d likely get some good assets in return.

Yikes no. Trouba 1.1m retained could net us a late 1st easy. We're not buying him out lol. Even then, we will still need him next year too. Same with Lindgren, considering there's no UFA Ds that make sense, Forsling signed and Hanifin wants sunshine. Zad Kulikov or Hakanpaa could fit.
Goody 1.1m retained also, could net a mid pick and is way better in the long run.

I mean I think the word is out that he is a pylon. We have not been good at getting rid of our mistakes.
