That trade is a pipe dream. 2 late round firsts are not enough to take on Reaves, take on Robertson & give up Jones, let alone sending picks backs.
Hawks are not going to retain on Jones’ contract any time soon. It is way too long to pay a player to be on another team even if the compensation is in the ballpark of being fair.

The Hertl trade has opened my eyes a bit to possible retention on Jones. But, CHI isn't as far away from contending as SJS. Plus, CHI needs Jones cap hit over the next few years to ensure they are getting to the cap floor. I think CHI should be open to a trade as long as Jones is too, but I doubt two late 1st's, a cap dump, and a borderline bust is going to get it done. TOR will have to give up at least one of Knies, Cowan, or Minten. So, if you want to trade for a 1RD, get comfortable with the idea of at least one of them being involved.

Hawks easily decline both of those trades. They aren't looking to trade Jones or retaining on Jones for 6 years. And the Hawks definitely aren't paying anything for Kampf. He's a cap dump from the Hawks perspective.
