Description
If we can't find a trade partner for Holl at 1.1M retained, we just buy him out instead. The buyout and that much retention is basically the same.
If Avs device to move Manson, we should be interested in him. Not sure if that package gets it done but they get a NHL ready defenseman who will be making under 1M and a mid pick. There is a bit of risk involved with acquiring Manson given his injury history but he has put together a full season so far. His style of play is what we are lacking but also part of the reason he has the injury history he does.
Acquiring Matt Roy's signing rights to try and negotiate an ideally better contract with him before he becomes a UFA. Ideally we can sign him for under 5.5M but I signed him for that just to be, what I hope at least, is on the high side.
Sharks trade is a somewhat cap dump somewhat get different types of players. Fabbri can be an effective middle 6 forward and Maatta an effective bottom 4 defenseman.
I kept Petry as his buyout barely saves any money and he can be an extra defenseman if injuries happen. Also going that his veteran leadership could be a positive in the room.
Gave Kane 3 years in hopes that he would take a little less money per year.
Bridged Raymond to try and save cap for this year.
Re-signed Perron to bring more leadership and for a player than can play up and down in the line up. Should be cheap enough given his age and production. I also think he wants to be here as well.
Berggren makes the team cause he should have been there already.
I have Mazur on the team. I think with his skillset he could play in the NHL. His production might not be great but I feel like we need to start integrating our youth into they line up.
Ran the goalies back as I feel with so many teams in the market, the prices will be high and free agents might get overpaid. Also getting guys like Gost, Petry and Sprong out of the line up and replacing them with Roy, Manson and Sturm should help a bunch with the defensive side of the game.

    1. Holl, Justin ($1,100,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
Maybe a team takes him for free at 2.3M if not then just buy him out, the cost of this retention and the buyout is the same.
    2.
    DET
    1. Manson, Josh
    Additional Details:
Only if they want to move Manson, they may want to keep him.

I like what he brings but he plays a heavy, hard game and he has had a long history with injuries. Luckily this season he has been healthy.
    COL
    1. Johansson, Albert
    2. 2025 3rd round pick (DET)
    Additional Details:
AlJo is probably our most NHL ready prospect other than Edvinsson, just no room on the team for him.

I value this return at a 2nd + a 3rd. At least this way you know what you are getting and don't need to develop the prospect.

He should be able to jump into the NHL next year. A deal could possibly be for someone else like Buium but I feel this makes sense for both teams.

I never thought about acquiring Matt Roy's signing rights.

      Yzerman did this with Husso.

I'm not sure how much mileage Manson has left?

Wings already have some old D.

Perron seems to be regressing but I keep hearing Yzerman is re-signing him.

I know he brings leadership but the wheels are falling off.

I wonder if Detroit could swing a trade with the Blues?

Package Husso with a prospect and/or pick to get Binnington?

I know Army is high on Hofer but I don't know if he's ready to be a starter?

I think the Kings are willing to pay Matt Roy $5.5M. It's when you go beyond that where the Kings get into cap trouble.

If you want to extend Roy, you're likely going to have to start at Gavrikov's AAV. Matt Roy is a better all-around defenseman than Gavrikov and feels like he should be paid accordingly.

My guess is that he extends at $6M AAV. The winner of his services is going to be the team willing to give him the longest term.

Not saying COL wouldn’t trade Manson but their top 2 prospects on D are LD and Behrens is close to being NHl ready so don’t see that being worth them doing.

I think that's the best way to try and get him for the best dollar. Probably still need to pay him 6M though. I think it's worth it.

You see it probably once a year for signing rights.

Manson is a risk bit that's why I acquired Burroughs and kept Petry. He brings something we need plus he is a steady defender. Third pair, he should be able to stay healthy enough. This way all 3 pairs are significant.

Perron for a cheap one year deal would be okay. Maybe even less money? Probably need to take some of the money for Matt Roy.

I wouldn't pay for a goaltender right now, I don't think we are there yet. At least not an expensive one.

Don't think he would roll the dice like that yet.

I could see Roy getting 6M. 6x6M doesn't seem unreasonable. Would rather less obviously.
