Taking advantage of Quinton's birthdate is clever but Jordan Spence doesn't get half that much.

If we're losing Matt Roy, then we can re-sign Cam Talbot without a qualm.

Kotkaniemi can't lace Phillip Danault's skates, but a kids' third line would be cute. I doubt that Carolina is interested in that swap, though, and it would spell the end of Rob Blake's employment in Los Angeles.

I don't think that Kaliyev gets us both Vejmelka and a third -- I'd guess his value is one or the other.

Uhh... no. KK >>>>>>> PLD. KK's a good 3C with 2C upside still only 23 years old. PLD is only 25, but SUCKS in all three zones. You'd have to eat half his deal for Carolina to even consider, and they still decline this unless you're adding substantially.
