I dunno... I love Elvis' athleticism and always felt like he's been dealt a **** hand in Columbus ever since the Kivleniks incident. I think a change of scenery, and new system, could be huge for him. Plus Elvis' buyout is cheaper than Kuempers (not sure how, but I saw a Jackets fan say that), so if it doesn't work, you could go that route after next season and bring up Stevenson.

Lindgren stevenson would be the ideal duo for next season imo.

I need to see Stevenson in NHL games before I commit to that. Caps fans were saying the same about Shepard last offseason, and he got torched in his NHL stint this year. I really like Stevenson, but throwing a 25 year old goalie with no NHL experience straight into the backup role after one good AHL season is a risky move.

You can check it out with the buyout calculator. Cheaper here means lower cap hit. It seems to be due to Kuemper's signing bonuses. Merzlikins does not have any. It is also the reason why I, as a Columbus fan, am now against this deal and I think Columbus would not do it.
