A 4th round pick for a depth dman like Kovacevic is a fair deal (and was even suggested by a Habs fan in this thread https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/5031347)

Not sure how that’s comparable to a top 2-3 dman in the whole league for a cap dump in your mind

90% of habs fans don't know puck, so some suggesting that doesn't make it realistic
He is a 26 yo 6'5 223 lbs RHD defensive bottom pairing dman with a cap hit of $766.667...
He is appreciate in the locker room, can come in & out of the line up, good attitude
And we would trade him for a 4th round pick ? Did you see how many picks we have ?
We don't care for more middle round pick, even a 3rd wouldn't be enough for him
We will keep him, if nobody offers what K. Hughes ask, then we will let him walk or resign him depending how Barron plays next year
Savard will be leave, I see Kovacevic coming back as the 7th dman IF Logan Mailloux & David Reinbacher are NHL ready in 2025-2026
If one of Reinbacher/Mailloux/Barron aren't ready or haven't blossom, then Kocacevic is a regular

Montreal have upwards of 10 potential NHL ready dmen for next year. I think Kovacevic could easily be moved. I always offer a 3rd + 5th for him. Montreal trading 1-2 dmen this offseason is very probable.

Dman waivers exempt : Lane Hutson, David Reinbacher, Logan Mailloux, Jayden Struble, Arber Xhekaj & Kaiden Guhle. Okay the last 2 are clearly regular, but all the others can start in Laval. Dman not waivers exempt : Jordan Harris, Justin Barron & Jonathan Kovacevic. I could see one dman getting traded this summer, but I doubt it's going to be a RHD
