Description
For now this team will lack firepower, but my guess it will compete like crazy, defend well, and be a complete pain in the butt to play against while they re-tool.

Trades
1.
NYI
  1. Cataford, Mathieu
  2. 2026 2nd round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Vegas get another plug and play veteran with proven leadership and grit at a discount in exchange for a prospect and a pick. What else is new?
VGK
  1. Lee, Anders ($3,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Isles move on from Lee but keep half his ticket by dealing him to the always open for business Golden Knights. In return they get Cataford, a decent looking prospect with a bit of a runway and a delayed 2nd.
2.
NYI
  1. Mazur, Carter
  2. Wallinder, William
  3. 2025 1st round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
The Wings import a younger (and cheaper) vet winger to replace Perron whom they can re-sign to help the kids into the post season. They give up a pair of prospects that lie outside of their Top Five and a 1st to get him at a discount plus a 4th.
DET
  1. Nelson, Brock ($2,000,000 retained)
  2. 2025 4th round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Isles move on from Nelson but hold onto a third of his deal who can play both in the middle and on the left side to get younger once more. In return they grab a pair of players who could be ready to go sometime in the next 12 months and a likely middle round 1st. A 4th is also added to the mix.
3.
NYI
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (NSH)
  2. 2025 4th round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Nashville grabs an extremely versatile winger (both sides, multiple roles) with grit at half price who Trotz knows well from his time in New York. He's a perfect Swiss army knife for this kind of team is cheap and costs them only a pair of staggered mid-rounders.
NSH
  1. Palmieri, Kyle ($2,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
The third vet forward to go, Palmeiri is re-united with Trotz in Nashville. The Isles again pick up part of the tab but get a 3rd and a 4th for their troubles.
4.
NYI
  1. Broberg, Philip [RFA Rights]
  2. Lavoie, Raphael [RFA Rights]
  3. 2025 1st round pick (EDM)
  4. 2026 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
The Oil get a #1 LHD in their prime to pair with Bouchard so Ekholm can move to the right and play with Nurse, leaving Kulak and Ceci as the third pair. It costs them a 1st, a 2nd, a pair of prospects who need a reboot elsewhere. But they have Pelech for four years after this one.
EDM
  1. Pelech, Adam
Additional Details:
The Isles open up a spot for Romanov on the top pair by dealing Pelech. A bit younger than the other's he does net them a pair of high picks and, if they can develop them possibly a pair of real contributors down the line. It's not like the Oil has an envious track record there.

I think you're really overpaying Hoffman and Sprong lol. For 5M$ go get Toffoli instead

Daniel Sprong will get in the neighborhood of 3 x $3,500,000 No way he's getting $5,000,000 per.

The Detroit trade is laugh bad for us, No way Brock Nelson has anywhere near that kind of value.

Imagine Detroit trading a 1st and two solid prospects for "A younger (33 years old) replacement of David Perron".

What the hell even is that?! tears of joy

I just don't see Edmonton targeting another LHD.
