Trade Idea with Edmonton

Ya. Canucks fan here. In this trade Rangers definitely give up something else. A prospect with some nhl potential at a position of need and one that is on the cusp of nhl play.

To start with, this is clearly a no. You probably understand why, but it simply doesn't work for what EDM would be looking to do and is clearly balanced pretty heavily in NYR's favour.

If I entertain the idea regardless of whether I think it's possible, it would absolutely involve EDM getting something significant on top. I'd envision a deal along the lines of Kane for Goodrow (891,667 retained), Sykora, & a pick. Still wouldn't really work but at least the team would get something out of it.

Only chance this happens is *IF* EDM actually wants to move Kane, and they want Goodrow simply for the buyout purpose. Even then there’s a decent add.
