that dont get chych, ott has no interest in pageau, Wahlstrom, Oliver is a bust

Wahlstrom is 23, hits, fights, is massive, and has been a half point per game player twice already in the nhl, that's not a bust in my opinion. I don't think we're going to get a ton for Chych, but I do know it'll be a hockey trade and I think we'll be lucky to get a high first attached.

Pageau would sell tickets and is still a responsible vet who scores.

Personally just not a fan of the defense still. That has to be the biggest goal of the off season to fix, without that we are going to be picking top 5 next season.

I agree, just afraid what it'll cost us for a 2nd pair RD. Moving Chych will be addition by subtraction defensively, and Branny mainly gets exposed on the PK; his +/- is one of the best on the team. Really think Kleven will be solid back there as well.

Would be super happy to land a Demelo or Roy, but practically every team is looking for a top RD.

Sucks we're Ottawa and we have to overpay someone to come but we are really desperate to get Chabot a long term partner. Just do what has to be done to get one of Pesce, Roy, Demelo, Montour etc. Cap is going up so in the long run it shouldn't hurt to overpay one. Branny can drop to Klevens partner and we run JBD as our 7th defenseman. Goaltending would look better behind a stable and solid group of defense too.

That offense has enough fire power to win games, just need the defense to keep us in them.
