Description
Situation on July 4th, with the rest of our 2024 draft selections omitted but assuming that the St. Louis first is used to select a RW. Trying to land a big-ticket top-6 RW or #3C free agent. I wonder if Alex Wennberg would be the answer at #3C.

Some RW draft ideas:

Konsta Helenius: unlikely to still be available at #16
Michael Brandsegg-Nygard: might be available at #16
Emil Hemming: might be available at #16
Michael Hage: might be available at #16
Becket Sennecke: should be available at #16
Terik Parascak: should be available at #16
Ryder Ritchie: should be available at #16
Sam O'Reilly: should be available at #16
Dean LeTourneau: should be available at #16

Demelo isn’t signing with a bottom feeder like Anaheim when he’ll be 31 and one of the top right handed defenders on the market. He’ll be looking for a contender and they’ll be enough interested in him that he’ll get a good offer

I truly don’t know how to value LaCombe. I understand the thought process behind it and think it could be beneficial for the Blues. But it would hinge on belief that LaCombe is capable of moving into a top 4 role long term and being an asset there.

It would also have to be at the pick because if one of the top end defenseman are still available that would probably make more sense.

16 would be an awesome spot to trade up to. Feels like someone solid should fall there. 12 spots are very likely gone (in no particular order), including:

Celebrini
Lev
Lind
Parekh
Buim
Demidov
Eiserman
Iginla
Catton
Dickinson
Yakemchuk
Silayev

That still leaves your entire list above plus some other interesting players with only 3 picks before #16OA. Very real chance there’s a Helenius or Brandsegg-Nygard caliber player available there. Maybe even a Catton if the undersized Caufield effect scares away a few extra teams
