If I'm the Leafs, I'm asking for some youth (Guenther, Durzi, or Maccelli in this case), or a number 1 defenceman for Marner. What they are getting here is not very good, regardless of how high the 1st round pick is. Vejmelka is not a starting goalie. Would prefer Ingram.

I agree. I am fine with trading Marner, but need reality no team offered a simple top pairing DMan for Nylander according to reports. Why would they offer that for Marner which is what the leafs need a top 6 quality forward not an all star just quality and a top pairing DMan. No draft picks etc... I honestly don't know who would trade that for Marner for whether he's worth it or not. Most of the time the trades for the players are responded back with future bases offers from the other team or you are looking at a 1 for 1 like Larsson and Hall. And look what that did for the Oilers.
