There's no way you think marner with an extension is only worth chychrun and a pick swap. Toronto would ask for Tkachuk or Stutzle.

if we’re talking about a world where Marner is being traded, he’s got a NMC so he can decide where he wants to go, is costing 11M, so salary will need to be going back, and is being sold at an all-time low in his value where he’s being labelled as the problem for the Leafs. toronto never gets “full” value for him and they sure as hell never get Tkachuk or Stützle

He's only being labeled as "the problem" today. The rest of the week Nylander was "the problem". He had a solid season and has regularly been good in the playoffs until this year. If you wanna bring up an nmc then Ottawa is immediately out of the picture.
