Description

Brainstorming ideas for next year to see how the team could improve with off-season signings and/or trades. Team has a decent amount of cap space given the cap increase and they could be either more passive given all of their high-profile players are signed or they could be more aggressive in the off-season. Either way, I think they try to fix some obvious holes (depth scoring and 1RD).

If they are more aggressive it could involve moving some money and a major piece like Saros in order to make room for other key players that could make the team in front of the goalie much stronger. If NSH moves in this direction this is a spot they could attempt to land at that would set the team up for success, with some risk involved

100%. Only goalie that might be somewhat available that the Devils could trade Mercer for is Swayman.
I love Saros but the return wouldn't be much more than a 2025 1st, the going rate for high-caliber rentals.

Maybe one of Holtz and Casey. Certainly not both of them though, no way. Would be an unprecedentedly large return for a goalie in the cap era.
