Probably decline purely because of the extension. There's no world Marner's worth more than Aho. If it was something like 9.5 x 8, maybe. I could see that. But for someone that is known to struggle in the postseason? Ehh

As long as its post July 1st and we can convince Chicago (or another) to take on half the cap hit of the original deal, sure. We are going to have to be shrewd this offseason season and adding an 11 million dollar player doesn’t help

I don't think they would have any interest in paying Marner 11.5M. They could probably stomach 10Mx8 but I doubt more than that. I also think they would rather keep Guentzel at that cap hit so unless Marner is retained on and/or Kotki is traded I don't see a fit here

Also you are underpaying your UFA's, Montour will ask for 7.5M, Stephenson will ask for 6M and more term, and Domi will probably want 4M. You also can't keep cheaping out on goaltending, have you learned nothing?
