Description
Montreal desperatly needs to go on full rebuild mode by getting rid of important pieces of their actual core in exchange of drafts picks and good young prospects specially with the 2018 draft that is considered one of the best in recent years. With theses trades, Montreal would have a very young group of center depth in reinhart, borgstrom, danault and also drouin that can play center too. Fleury would come in help to an aging and slow defense group, with victor mete, Noah Juulsen and Jakub Jerabek in the AHL, the bank of defenseman prospects would be strengtened.

Charlie Lindgren is not a starter in the nhl yet. Price has a NMC clause in his trade, and last I checked Panthers are stick with Luongo for a while. Why are u trading our best goal scorer? And a slow start to the season doesn't mean we need to rebuild. Does edmonton need to rebuild? Last I checked they are lower in the standings then the Habs. We still have 9M in cap space to solve our issues.

Luongo is 38 years old.... he wont be able to do the job for years to come plus with Reimer as a backup they would appreciate having price as a #1 goalie for 8 more years to come. As for the subban trade, you trade him before his NMC clause comes in application. I found we have Lindgren showed good flashs and following a rebuild where you give young guns time of ice you let them learn by playing and live with them mistakes, thats how you build a championship team, chicago dit it, toronto is doing it, you dont get a championship team by paying your goalie 10.5 millions and patching up your horrible draft history and youth developpement by overpaying veterans like plekanec and shaw.... Concerning pacioretty trade, i found it interesting because hes a consistent 30+ goal scorer and signed one more year at 4.5 millions which is an excellent cap hit for a scorer like him, with price he's the one that would bring up the more significant return and i find that fleury would fill the hole at the defense prospects created by the sergachev trade, lastly it would get a good bank of draft picks for one of the deepest draft years to build up strong for the future.

Luongo is signed for a massive cap hit. how is florida supposed to afford Price. Goaltenders are diff. Some goalies can take the crease at a young age, while other can't. some win calder trophys in their rookie years, yet still cant establish themselves as starters (Steve Mason). Chicago and Toronto were fortunate enough to tank and draft generational talents. what gaurentee do we have that the player we draft will be a superstar. Rebuilds are not easy and don't always work (see: buffalo, arizona, even edmonton until mcdavid).I agree that Pacioretty can bring in a lot, but as of now he is a 30 goal scorer in his prime. id rather trade him next year and bring in a haul of nhl ready prospects. What u need to understand is that it is not easy to tank and not easy to rebuild esp considering toy are in montreal. expectations are sky high. one slow start to the season doesn't mean a rebuild. cap space is an asset that teams are crying for, so u can bet we'll bring in some good players.
