Matthews and Karlsson get about $12 million per each no way is Karlsson taking $11 million probably between $12 million to $13 million according to the reports.

Do you honestly feel that Karlsson is worth $12-$13 MIL on a long term contract??

Why does Marleau waive his NMC for Edmonton? And does Edmonton want Marleau's cap hit of 6.25? Do folks really think Karlsson is worth 11m or so long term? OK he might be, but is he going to be "great" going forward. He has won 3 playoff rounds in the first 8 NHL seasons. Leafs are trying to establish their own culture, I just don't understand the parachuting in a high priced player, seemingly just for the reason the reason he fits under the cap. Optimistic prudence might say Liljegren, Bracco and the first rounder will provide much better value.

Honestly i don't believe he's worth that much, But then again it doesn't matter what i think his rumored asking price is in that Neighborhood he probably gets close to a 7 year $84 million deal from a desperate team that has tons of cap space.

I wouldn't say to a desperate team. Any team that has EK will be happy with him for a long time. Ask palhal if he thinks Matthews is worth 12M+ he's going to get in his next contract? Eventually you need to pay your horses. No team in the NHL ever won a cup with all ELC's.

Karlsson is the best dman of our generation and he is potentially available. Stop pretending he wouldn't turn TML (or any team) into an instant Cup favorite. Yeah, he's that good.
