pitts doesnt have the assets to acquire pacioretty. they dont have a top 4 D in the system nor a top 6 center prospect.

no but Sprong and Timmons (a Defensman) with those picks and reese for us to take on the cap hits from haglin and cole
we just use cole and haglin to make sure we get a top 10 pick then buy out haglin come summer.

Timmons doesn't show up because he's not under contract because he's still in junior with another year left in the same position as Mete last year
but Timmons numbers side by side with Mete for Team Canada's gold shows Timmons is superior .

because we are bottom 5 in the league and 1/8 teams out of 31 who can say we have 7m + in cap .
teams with Bonus's like PIT who went over cap 2 years in a row due to bonus's which means if they on year 3 are over
they dont get a fine or lose cap like the first 2 years but lose draft picks (going over cap is lenient until year 3 doing it straight like PIT)
