That is the hot rumor around Detroit right now. The question is who is going to be making decisions Detroit? I don't see Holland getting fired, maybe moved in to a consulting position. He's been with the team since 1983-84 when he signed with The Adirondack Red Wings. Then right after the 1984-85 season he started scouting for the Wings and has been in the front office every since. Now if Holland is moved who is the coach does he stay like the Lions did with Caldwell. In my opinion all that did was set the Lions back another year. I have no idea what is going to happen but I think you have to look at the people making the deal before looking at the deal itself.

You're absolutely right about this. Kenny holland has been the man but it looks as if the game has passed him by a little bit. Finding a gm to put some direction back into the franchise should be the priority here. Im all in favor of blowing it up and stockpile picks and younger pieces on the roster.

This is the first trade involving Athanasiou that I could see happen. I'd like to see it straight up or maybe conditional picks similar to the Drouin for Sergachev trade. Athanasiou has had friction with the coach and management I don't with who or how much. That's why my first post was about who will be making the decisions.

As a DRW fan, I wouldn't be happy with the trade. Faulk's older than our youth core, and trading part of that youth core for him will only hurt our rebuild process IMO.

I'd rather see AA stay as well but if Holland and Blashill have a problem with him they are dead set on moving him we could do a lot worse than Faulk. Faulk is only 25 and AA is 23. After some time on Carolina Hurricane sites it seems that Carolina writers and fans feel the same way as most Detroiters which is the trade should not happen.
