Edmonton IMO is a drak horse candidate for Karlsson if he heads out, and I would’ve liked to see a Klef-Karlsson pairing just to see how that’d work, but I think ur trade gives Ott the value they want.

I'd stay away from Ryan if I'm EDM, due to another expansion draft.

By the time the expansion draft for Seattle rolls around EDM would be forced to protect Lucic and Ryan. And it's no guarantee they waive (Phaneuf)

No one would protect Ryan, he was unprotected for Vegas. Edmonton would beg Seattle to take Lucic.

What's this about Phaneuf? Remember he got moved to LA?

Ryan with an NMC would automatically need to be protected.

Phaneuf has an NMC and wouldn't waive it for the Vegas expansion draft, which is why Methot is no longer a Senator as Ottawa was unable to protect him

Point is it's no guarantee your NMC's waive for you, so it's best to have limited players with NMC's

Point is when you have a chance at Karlsson, you take it. No moves are a bridge you cross when you get there and given Ryan went unprotected in the last draft, it's nothing to worry about.
