If you could’ve seen my reaction when I saw “Ryan” in the title. Oh man, I was thinking of the hate I would’ve commented. Contracts look good, but Tavares won’t play third line, and the Leafs will have to trade someone to be able to afford everything. But this team would be so scary.

tavares is a 1c and will want to play 1c. matthews is a 1c and will want to play 1c. both can't play 1c and get top mins. he wont sign here. he could go to san jose and get more money and play 1c.

Leafs shouldn't and won't pay so much just to get the Tavares to sign. Cap really doesn't work if you want no performance carryover into next year when their are expensive contracts to sign. There are no big contracts to jettison next year when other RFAs need to be signed.
