Description
Oilers get another RHD that that desperately need. And someone on a cost controlled contract for a few more years.

Hawks have 4 RHD options going into next year. Moving Murphy seems like an obvious move IMO.
Hawks now have #8 and #10 OA picks in the draft. This gives them the opportunity to draft both D and F who could be gamers in the next year or two.

I'm 100% NO 1,000% willing to trade up from the 27th/30th pick. I don't think Murphy gets it done though. Yes, he'd be a decent add to EDMs Defense, but the Hawks will either need to add another decent piece...or take on salary....Russell/Lucic are unfortunately the first reactions... AND if I'm being 100% honest...I'd rather have Seabrook than either of those two. Seabrook costs too much FOR SURE, but he at least still plays decent hockey.

Yeah, that is not nearly enough to move up. You'd need to add someone like Duclair and/or Forsling, if not more.

The Hawks could maybe take Russel back but not at his full cap hit. Maybe Russel with 1M retained. The Oilers are better off buying out Sekera because that only costs them a little under 2M AAV.
I would have no issue adding Duclair to the deal here.

The Oilers basically have 1 right handed defenseman on their team. I sort of depends on the price they are willing to pay for another one. And we saw what they paid for Larsson.

Hahaha, yeah I wish there's a Hall/Larsson type trade available. I'm not so sure he'll fall for that again, but it is Chiarelli after all...so...maybe Draisaitl for Seabrook??? smile I would throw in Duclair too. If we're force with Russell...fine but he is a handi cap and just about every Dman gets worse playing next to him. He's just bad and his SINGLE ONLY asset is stepping in front of rubber. EDM is also pretty high on Ethan Bear. Performed well in Seattle/Bakersfield. He's kinda floated under the radar.
