Trades
1.
ARI
  1. Hagelin, Carl
  2. Hunwick, Matt
  3. 2019 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Salary has to be shed to make this deal worth it. Could easily see Arizona asking for a third in 2020 as well or even instead of the second round pick a first in 2019 or 2020.
2.
PIT
  1. Galchenyuk, Alex
  2. 2019 3rd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Its been reported multiple times that Montreal wants to get rid of Galchenyuk, if that's the case and they miss out on the Tavares Sweepstakes (Fully believe Toronto will be making a heavy push for him) this makes sense that they trade for Brass then sign him.

Both of your trades suck for the other team. 2 cap dumps and a 2nd for a good d=man. And then a rental for Chucky. In both cases you are helping your cap and robbing the other team. In the Arizona trade you give up a 2nd to dump two salaries and then take one of their better defensmen..

No way Montreal trade Galchenyuk and a pick for Brassard. Pens would have to add more.

Hagelin is a Penalty killer and a proven playoff performer, Hunwick fully agree its a cap dump and hence the explanation below it. As far as Galchenyuk for Brassard, again notated below it that it is a trade and sign and the entire thing hinges on Montreal not being able to sign Tavares, not to mention Galchenyuk has been on the trading block since last summer for Montreal.
