Description
1. Panarin - Multiple sources have said he's not interested in signing an extension. My theory all along was that Bowman told Panarin he planed to bring him back before he was traded ASAP, he just needed a couple of years to make cap space to do it.... I think Bowman planned to sign Panarin next summer (and will regardless of what happens) but to bring Panarin back now I would offer that... It will also be fun to keep the "weirdest 'trade chain' in history" alive with that trade...(Saad for Anisimov, Saad for Panarin and now Anisimov for Panarin) good times...

2. Faulk & Darling - Yes I know that no Carolina fan will ever be satisfied with any proposal for Faulk that doesn't include the Moon, however the Canes get (4) cheap legitimate NHL assets/depth players & (2) nice draft picks. They get a 3rd round pick this season and the Hawks 1st round pick next season, not only that but Hossa's contract covers the cap difference... I think that is more than fair - especially with Faulk being redundant and Darling being nothing more than a cap dump....You get Forsberg in the deal, there is your backup...

3. Wingels, Vermette & Moore - Wingels needs no explanation, he's sandpaper like Martinsen & Vermette - excellent guys to have in your bottom 6. And Vermette - he's excellent at draws and he has a very good two-way game so he can be used as a specialist...... Of course the Hawks need a #5 D and John Moore (a Chicago guy) fills that role excellently.....

4. I figured Jokiharju has a good chance at making the team - if he does, good for him.

5. Hawks take Wahlstrom 8th overall and with his size and skillset I could really see the kid making the team and perhaps making a significant impact.....

All-in-all I think this team has lots of potential and could easily contend for a Cup. This team has the right balance between youth and veteran leadership - it has the right balance between offense, defense and two-way players.... The defense on this team is a real upgrade from last season to boot.....

A team that looks like this is really possible in the fall... I expect Stan to make some significant moves and if Panarin is being shopped you can certainly bet Bowman will do everything in his power to bring him back to Chicago this season - if not this season then certainly next summer...

Alright, flame away boys & girls.

Panarin won’t resign in Chicago after the extension then trade to Columbus..... sorry. Also that’s a lot of trash for a good player.

You’re basically offering nothing to Columbus for Panarin. CBJ don’t need D prospects and and old and oft-injured center.

Those are decent players, just because you're not familiar with them doesn't make them trash.

Either way, I wasn't expecting Panarin to re-sign in Columbus... My theory all along was that Bowman was going to re-sign with the Hawks in the summer of 2019 and Panarin making it known that he's not going to sign an extension was his way of telling Bowman "Dont sign anyone long term, I'm coming back to Chicago one way or another, be it this season or next summer"....

Sorry you feel that way.... What do you think Panarin will get you?
