While WIlson did work very well with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov, so does Vrana. So can Oshie at times. So might Connolly if given a chance. DSP had one bad game there, but might get another look in training camp after leading playoff right wings in even strenght goals. Paying WIlson almost $4M buys into a value system from the '80s NHL, where hitting and toughness are more valuable than point production. Does WIlson have skill and potential? Absolutely, but the team at the time came out and said he was drafted because he hit the hardest of the guys on Canada's WJC team, and the Caps had already picked a skill guy that year. Look at what Sheary signed for after riding shotgun on a top line and actually producing some points there, and then subtract for the points Willy didn't score, and you get a great deal on someone who lends some toughness and defense and a little potential to that top line.
