no way you get 2 first for Stone, and no team in there right mind would ever give a 1st for Duchene lol

    what are you talking about?

duchene is worth more than a mid-first round pick. 2nd line centre entering his prime coming off of a 59 point season. definetly worth a 1st. he was traded for (much) more than a first after coming off a 41 point season in 16-17. his value has gone up since then.

mark stone is a point per game forward and is also very strong defensively. if that deal involves a long term extension then hes worth 2 firsts from an upcoming team like NJD

Pass on giving up Kaut. Him, Jost, Makar, Timmins, Bowers are not being moved in any scenario, especially paired with the Sens 1st.

Sorry but try again. Sens have 0 leverage in trying to get that pick back, they wont get one of the Avs top prospects back with that pick. Is Karlsson worth that and more? Yeah he is. But thats how bad the Sens had this thing blow up in the faces in the past 10 months. From what has been reported from Avs beat writers and insiders, Joe is holding firm when the Sens call for that pick.

Sorry... I'm not sure you looked at the other side of the trade... that's Erik "The Swedish Savage" Karlsson... arguably in the Top 3 Defenseman in the league, would easily push Colorado into the playoffs and bolster their back end... Karlsson, Barrie and Johnson can all carry their respective pairs and do marvelously. MacK would score many a goal with some sweet passes from Karlsson...

Kaut may be a Top 6 player, and that 1st may be Hughes... but Colorado isnt looking to be winning in 4 years time... their window is now while everyone on the team is relatively cheap cap wise.

He is worth that and more, I added to my response before you responded. It all comes down to, Avs have something the Sens desperately want, their own pick back. They dont need to trade that pick to win now. They have a plan in place and they are ahead of schedule with making the playoffs last season. They are not rushing this thing.

Would Karlsson be a game changer for them, absolutely. Is it something they desperatly need? Not really. They have a pretty good D core right now int he NHL, and they have more high end D talent coming. They can be patient as their D depth is probably the strongest it has been in 15 years.

thats where you are dead wrong. Their window is not now, their window starts 2 years from now when Mackinnon is 24 entering into his prime years, when their new D core in Makar, Timmis, Zadorov, girard are all 24-20 years old. When Jost, Compher,Kerfoot, Kaut, Rantanen are 24-20 years old. With the hopes of Grubauer at 28 established as a Top flight starter. That is why they traded duchene, he did not fit their time line any longer at 26 years old. He didnt make sense and was an expiring asset in the 2 year window build
