Description

MTL trade: Patches for a same age 2nd line center, 25 year old 2nd pairing RHD, and 22 year old LHD who is still developing.

Saad and Forsberg for Faulk.

I fully anticipate both CAR and MTL fans to say how each player is worth 2 more 1st round picks than what is being traded here. I just don't see either player pulling in more. Potentially a conditional 2nd round pick on Pacioretty re-signing.

Pacioretty re-signs for 4x7M replacing Saad +1 year.

These moves improve the team now and makes them more competitive and also doesn't interfere at all with the small rebuild it seems Stan Boooooman is moving for.
