Trouba doesn't want to sign long term with the Jets, why would he want to sign long term with the Habs.

Perhaps he can be convinced that playing alongside Shea Weber and in front of Carey Price, and with the great young forward talent on hand and coming, the future would be good. Also, he could command more money in Montreal due to his role than elsewhere.

I don't know if it would be convincing enough, but the team should try.

Trouba isn't leaving Winnipeg for Montreal he wants to play in the Eastern US. He'll come home to Detroit before he goes to Montreal. Or i see him either in Tampa or with the Panthers.
