IMO, Barzal does not make this team. I think Stone replaces him (natural right winger that can do it all). I think Ekblad is one who will push for a spot. Those are just 2 names that come quickly to mind.

There are so many good players it's so hard to choose from. Barzal was my last addition to this team, but I think if he has two years like this past one, it would be next to impossible to leave him off the team. It would likely be an older guy like Benn or Bergeron to take a step back in the next two years IMO. As a Sens fan, I love Stone, and the fact that he's a very good two-way player might make him enticing for this squad.

As for defence, Canada is so overloaded with right-handed d-men, it makes it difficult to build this team without having some righties play the left side. that being said, Canadian teams in the past have always looked for L/R pairings, which is why I included Vlasic. I think Ekblad is a fantastic player and will contend to make this team, just don't know if there's room for him.

Not disagreeing. I think the LD/RD bias lately is due to Babcock...it was a preference of his. I'm sure TSN can't wait for this debate to heat up again so they can fill some airtime again.

There's always a ton of debate when it comes to a best-on-best Team Canada roster, but you've done well here I think. This far away (1 year, 7 months?) it's interesting speculation because some of the older guys could conceivably see some significant regression in their game while younger guys like Barzal or Ekblad could step up even more. I always want to go younger with these teams, but the TC brass generally like the vets, even if they're not in their prime anymore.

To me the biggest question mark on your roster is the goaltending. Holtby struggled all year until the playoffs, and will Price ever be the same?
