Description
The 3M line was one of the best lines in hockey at driving play and shutting down other teams. Don't let the bad PDO fool you into thinking they were bad. Use Lindholm to add scoring to the third line and leave the 3M line together.

I respectfully disagree, I think that we need more scoring from a line like that, I think that the addition of Neal to a line with Backs and Chucky is deadly, Backlund is good enough now that he can drive a line and remain a defensive stud, Frolik used to kind of be his defensive safety net. I think using Frolik to create a similar situation that he had with Backlund with a guy like Jankowski is ideal, if you can use the last two years of Frolik's contract to develop Janko into a Backlund Lite then it will be one of the best FA signings Calgary has ever had. It improves our depth while also improving our secondary scoring. I love the 3M line I think this is the way I would like to see it go though, if it doesn't work then you figure it out early and just put them back together.

I agree. Frolik was pretty disappointing in the second half of last year. However if you put him with Jankowski, it could be a really good shut down duo.

Also disagree, break them up. Disappointing year for Frolik (shooting the puck on our own net in the late 3rd against Vegas which lead to the tying goal was arguably our turning point for the year). Can we chalk it up to injury and "hope" he bounces back, maybe but obviously Tre, unlike Chia, would rather not take that approach. I'd like to see Lindholm pair with Chuk and fellow Swede Backlund to see what happens. Injuries are not an "if" but a "when" so to have Fro as depth and able to jump back to the top 6 when needed is not a bad problem to have at all, Plus Fro will still be on the PK1 unit with Backs I would hope.

I have to agree with the above comments. The 3M line was absolutely one of the best DEFENSIVE lines in hockey; however, if this team is gonna be competitive in this league we are gonna need that line to be a scoring line as well. Last year they didn't do that. Neal/Lindholm on the 2nd line and moving Frolik to the third line to play with jankowski and bennett not only improves the 2nd line offensively but it also improves the third line defensively. Imagine if we have an offensively dangerous and defensive powerhouse for both our 2nd and 3rd line. Jankowski may benefit greatly from playing with a denfensive minded playmaker player like Frolik. Janks has proven he can shoot so if we play him with a good passer like frolic hes gonna get more goals simple as that

Backlund has been propped up Offensively by Tkachuk.

Backlund needs to be the 3C. If he is 3C, then the balance will be right and we could actually contend.

1C Monny, 2C Janko or Lindholm, 3C Backs, 4C Ryan
