    even still i dont think sharks should do that. sharks are in win now mode why turn back now and trade your great #2 dman to get young players/picks that were purposely traded away already for the current roster the way it is.

    Take out the 1st or 2nd and the Boston trade might actually be a fair deal. I don't really like the trade, but it would make sense from a value standpoint. I don't like John Moore that much, but Donato looks like a stud. I'd still rather have #44.

    Can you explain the Blackhawks trade? You are asking the get what will likely be their third pair this season AND picks for nothing. If they were looking to dump salary (okay, I see that), then you could likely get Murphy (they just signed Manning after all) with picks for very little in return. But there would still be a return.

    But Murphy, Manning, and Moore don't make up for losing Vlasic, even if you get all three of them. Moore isn't a top pairing guy, and wouldn't play with Burns even if he was. He'd be with Braun, likely.

    Also, if you play Donato on the fourth line, you should probably just send him to the AHL. He won't develop playing 8 minutes a night.
