While I fully agree that Trouba needs to be moved this is a horrible trade for the jets

What I figured with this potential trade value for Trouba was looking for teams that could benefit best with Trouba in their lineup as a top 3 defender and could afford to give up a Center in return.

I know the price for Brassard for Trouba is more likely a 1 to 1 type trade, but Brassard has the NMC in his contract. My proposal in trade is to swap draft order and add Dano to the mix to help fill a roster gap, and sweeten a waived NMC from Brassard.

There were also other trade targets gaining a Center in return to allow Little the 3rd line role where he's better suited for the Jets. I looked at Nelson from the Islanders, Jenner from the Blue Jackets, Carter from the Kings, and least likely Bonino from the Preds. I felt the potential for a Brassard deal might be better suited for all players and teams as a whole. Brassard only plays 3rd line minutes under Malkin and Crosby, but had previously played top line minutes in New York and Columbus. So he's got the pedigree to play 2nd line minutes without worry, and playing with Laine could increase his production nicely.

Bottom line is that Little should be playing 3rd line minutes and leading the penalty kill.

Jets are covered they will roll 4 lines same as always and there lineup is pretty much set with two holes for camp battles to ensue with Roslovic in the lead for one spot and vaselainen, Appleton Lemieux Petan Dano for the other spot and depending on the night and how the team is rolling little and pearrault will be all over the lineup with Scheifele mostly with wheeler and laine and ehlers together, in saying all that, jets will be fine and fill the holes from within and possibly a rental or two at deadline and probably a blockbuster at draft for best available package and not overly for need but value
