If we bridge him for 3 years it will be for 5m tops. True but alot can change. First of all seattle will add alot to the salary cap and he will still be under control so we could trade him later but were not better off now if he gets traded because of a contract dispute or next year when we want to add a solid defender but can't afford it.

For every dollar the cap goes up 8cents will go to nylander’s next contract at they pay you gave him. So a rising cap does not help us to fit nylander. At 5m this would be more manageable and so would his raise. The best option is to sign nylander for as close to 6m as we can’t get him to agree to over 6 years. If he wants 7m it will be for 7or8 years. We can still afford that.
