    Any gap in salary from the buyout the leafs could sign him again like oprik or he can retire.

    Yeah LTIR might not happen

    Although a team like Arizona could easily take on the contract after the leafs pay his signing bonus. Arizona could then buy him out, and he could retire, or he could return to the leafs to make up the gap from the buyout. The league didnt have an issue with this type of transaction for orpik so we know it;s fine.

    All im trying to show is there are better options than moving a player like Nylander.

    He might love to go and live in Arizona....but thats after his contract with a NMC expires after next season.

    Also, please stop putting nylander at an 8 AAV thd leafs would have done thag a month ago if he was worth on the open market that much. But he isn't nor are the leafs going to cave and open that pandora's box.
